Matcha White Chocolate cookies

these matcha cookies with white chocolate chips are the perfect balance of earthy, sweet, and buttery flavors. they have a soft center, slightly crisp edges, and just the right amount of matcha to make them irresistible! 🍵

Ingredients

  • 150 g flour
  • 80 g ground nuts (almonds, walnuts, etc.)
  • 50 g brown sugar
  • 30 g white sugar
  • 2–3 tsp matcha powder
  • 100 g softened butter
  • 1 egg (room temperature)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • a pinch of salt
  • 1–2 tbsp milk (if needed)
  • 100-150 g white chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Beat softened butter with brown and white sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Mix in the egg and vanilla extract.
  3. In another bowl, mix flour, ground almonds, matcha powder, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture. Add 1–2 tbsp milk if the dough feels too dry. Stir in white chocolate chips.
  5. Wrap the dough and chill for at least 30 minutes (1 hour is better).
  6. Preheat the oven to 170°C (340°F).
  7. Roll dough into small balls, place on a lined baking sheet, leaving space between them.
  8. Bake for 10–12 minutes. The edges should be firm, but the center soft.
  9. Let cookies rest on the tray for a few minutes, then transfer to a rack to cool completely.
